School Starts

So I already posted something today, but to my surprise I found out there are a few people who read this i.e. Grandmothers. So I will strive to keep it as updated as possible. Jake and I both started school this week. I have class on Mondays and Wednesdays at 8 A.M. and Jake has an early morning class (among others) at 7 A.M. Monday through Thursday. Once school started our lives got a little more crazy. I am so greatful for the two ladies who watch max while
I'm at my hearing science class. But it's not like I really want to be there. It was a crazy week and we were both dead tired when night came, but I enjoy the busy schedules. It helps me to set other lofty goals to improve myself. However, I don't think Jake enjoys waking up at 6:10 every morning. Sometimes I wish I could just take all my classes on campus, but at this moment that is next to impossible. I have three other classes that are online, and one of them is four credits, so needless to say the next 3-4 months will be a bit stressful.

I Forgot to write about the second half of our trip which was spent in North Bend (the Oregon Coast, and California). I realize now just how much driving we did! It was a long trip.....but we have already been planning our 2011 trip, the question is where shall we go? We got to go to lots of beaches on the coast, and Max and Grandpa Ralph enjoyed a canoe ride together. He was a little scared at first but he was a champ. I finally got to experience the beautiful Redwoods, another check off my list and Crater Lake. As we were driving up the mountain I started to loose my enthusiasm, but by the time we got there and we witnessed the beauty of this attraction completely made by nature, I stood in awe. After making it home, things went back to normal, however, Jacob and I were reminded that school starts again soon.

Yesterday was Pioneer day. We got to spend a lot of family time together. We took Max swimming at Laura and Nathan's pool. It's so much more fun to go when you have a little one. We also went to Red Butte gardens for the first time. It was pretty, but after walking around for 5 minutes I think we were all ready to leave. They had a cute little park for kids that was designed just for them. That would make it worth it to buy a membership for when Milian gets older.

Our Family Trip

A lot has changed since Father's Day. First we moved to a different two bedroom apartment. They closed down our old apartment because of some minor renovations that had to be done. However, the move went by smoothly. Laura helped watch Max while Nathan and Jacob moved everything over. Juli came over and helped me clean our old apartment. This was good since she is so good at it. Last Wednesday we left for our family trip to the great Northwest. after a long thirteen hour drive we arrived in Vancouver and I finally met Grandma and Grandpa Muchmore. Then we were off to Aunt Dody and Uncle Tom's house where they graciously took us in for a couple of nights. It was nice to see them after so many years. They made us fresh halibut, it was amazing! Caitlin and Nathan's wedding was beautiful and once again I was reminded about how important and beautiful a temple sealing is. On July 3rd, we went out to Catipillar island and spent the day with the Muchmores. I can't deny that I wasn't a little nervous about getting on a small boat with a 6 month old, but we survived. Max got to spend a little time in the water with Grandpa Ralph. Unfortunately the weather would stay warm for only small intervals and then return to a cool temperature for the majority of the time. We have taken some pictures but I will not be able to post them until we return home! Happy 4th of July!

Father's Day Weekend!

Max has made a new discovery.....his feet. He loves to sit and touch them now. Since Ashley, Jake's little sister arrived, we have been running around all over the place. Last Friday we went to the Hogle Zoo and since went touring around Park City and the Salt Lake City Farmer's Market. There were so many people I don't think Ashley enjoyed it too much. But I was able to find Basil plants for just a dollar. As you can see Max Loved the zoo, it was a good time for him to take a nice long nap. Today we went and visited "This is the place heritage Park", Ashley claimed she had never been there before. It's been a fun and crazy weekend, but this coming week we have to get ready for our move to the new apartment.

Donut Falls

Yesterday we decided to go hike Donut Falls. It took us 1 1/2 hours to get there. Worst of all it was freezing when we got up there. Thank goodness that Jake remembered to bring extra clothes for the baby. If he hadn't we would of just turned around when we got there. I was surprised to see so many families there, but it was a nice little hike and it got me out of making a solo trip to the gym. The baby really likes his hiking bag and we've already used it several times since we bought it. Ashley comes in 2 days and were all really excited for her to spend some time with us. Hopefully our move to a different apartment won't interfere with our plans.

A family Visit

This weekend Grandma and Grandpa Milford were visiting. Erinn also came to town with Mya. It was nice to see them again since it's almost been two years since I met them. Max and Mya got to chill together. Of course we went and looked at baby clothes and toys. Max has been a little fussy, but I think it's because he's been out of his element because his house has been full with other people!

Someone asked Erinn and Jacob if Max and Mya were twins.......even though they are about 5 months apart in age.

Return of the XBOX

Jake finally got his XBOX back this week. When it wasn't working he tried to control his emotions, but deep down I knew his soul was in the depths of despair. Microsoft fixed it for free, because of a common defect. I've never been fond of having it in my house until recently. Jake downloaded a free trial for Netflix, and now I can watch Lost Season 3 without having to wait for it to be available at the library. Oh how I love summer, all the time wasted away on meaningless things like T.V. series and Guitar Hero! Even right now I can hear Michael Jackson's "Beat It" in the background as Jake's guitar keys go clickidy click.
